DR-FTIR spectra showing the impact of the N2 and CO2 atmospheres on hydrated dried cement paste. A hydrated and unexposed sample is given as a reference. The spectrum of an unhydrated and unexposed cement sample was used as a background for all of the hydrated spectra shown. The black lines are the infrared spectra of the hydrated unexposed samples. The cyan lines are the infrared spectra of the samples after exposure to a moist N2 atmosphere for 3 days. The magenta lines are the infrared spectra of the samples after exposure to a moist CO2 atmosphere for 4 days. The assignments and characterizations of the peaks and bands, marked with IX in the spectra, are presented in Table 1.
